Water Words
Let your words flow
Spit them out as soon as they come to mind
Just open your mouth and the faucet shall flow
But not just any words
Words of niceness
And positivity
Words that drown others in happiness
Little droplets of kindness is what we need in this world
Maybe even bottle up some for later
If you start with a drop
And they start with a drop
And we all start with a drop
Eventually our drops will run together
And we can have a puddle
For kids to splash in the optimism
Then that puddle will grow and bleed into the rivers
So the glee can flow through the cities
And everyone can benefit from the cheer
Then as our rivers expend even farther they may become oceans
Consuming a considerable amount of the surface of the earth
Bringing peace of mind and prosperity to all people
Finally the earth may be flooded
And the people may be fish
And this euphoria may exist forever
But for now this earth is a desert
And we must glug for laughter any chance we get
Drying up because no one will let their words flow
About the Poem:
This is an extended metaphor comparing words to water and illustrating how speaking kind words can grow into an overall more positive world.
